Sitges |
The first thing I thought before posting this was, how can I blog about this experience not using slang, without saying "the Carnaval was live!" or "Sitges was popping!" ha, it's difficult but here it goes. The UB girls and I went to Sitges last night. Sitges is a city, just 45 minutes outside of Barcelona by train. We were told that it’s Carnaval is the second best after the Rio de Janeiro Carnival in Brazil, so we had to go check it out. There are absolutely no words and I mean, no words that could describe this festival. The parade started at about 9 p.m. and didn’t end until 2 a.m. There had to be over 50 floats, each with different type of music, over 500 hundred participates dancing in costumes and hundreds of people who came from all over Spain to see it. What I loved about it was that around 90% of the people who came out to Sitges were dressed up in costumes, it was like Halloween for adults. When the parade was over, everybody was either in a bar or just partying on the street. You could tell that everyone was having a great time and I know my girls and I did. Carnaval was AMAZING, literally, the best carnival I’ve ever been to. I’m really considering going back next year.
