Ana and I |
Today, I met my host mom for the very first time. As you can imagine, I was super nervous and didn't know what to expect. Ana, is a 72 year old women who lives in the neighbor of Eixample in Barcelona. She has two sons and has hosted students for over 12 years now. She is so sweet and treats me very well. In her house, they are two other girls who are also studying abroad with my program, API but are attending another university. I haven't gotten to know them yet, but they seem very nice. One is named Katelynn and the other is name Shawna, both come from Massachusetts. I'm pretty sure after the first month or so, we'll all be closer. Ana's house is very nice and clean, I feel very comfortable living here.

La Sagrada Familia |
At around 5:30 p.m., she invited me out to walk around the neighborhood to show me around. As we were walking, I noticed the Sagrada Familia, I mentioned how we were only walking distance from it, and she offered to take me down to get a better look at it. Just minutes later, I was standing right in front of one of Gaudí's amazing works. Still unfinished, but more beautiful than ever, I was in shock seeing it. Just looking at it, I was amazed. I honestly couldn't believe I was standing in front of one of Gaud
í's work, I quickly pulled out my phone and began taking pictures.
I don't think there's a word to describe La Sagrada Familia, it's definitely breathtaking, that's for sure. Later on, I plan on visiting it again and actually go inside of it.
